Dear friends,
As many of you will have heard by now, we lost a dear member of our family over the weekend.
Aron Eisenberg, who played 'Nog' for seven years on Deep Space Nine, passed away suddenly this past Saturday following complications from a heart attack. Our community has been devastated by the news, and our film team has struggled to come to terms with the untimely loss of someone who was such a close friend to the project.
You can see the love for Aron and personal messages from our cast & crew in the news or on social media this week, but we wanted to take a moment now here with you to share our own remembrance of and tribute to our friend in this extended clip from his interview:
Should you wish to support Aron's family by donating to the funeral costs, a GoFundMe has been set up on the behalf of Aron's wife Malíssa and his two children and can be viewed here.
Aron was truly everything wonderful you've already seen or felt about him - kind, witty, energetic and passionate, and someone who cared immensely for the wellbeing of everyone around him. While we grieve and struggle to accept his loss, we also encourage you to follow his endlessly positive attitude and example. Take a moment this week to make someone smile, or do something kind for those around you.
With neverending love,
- The #DS9Doc Family

Greetings fellow niners,
One of our favorite surprise collaborations on the #DS9Doc was that with original Star Trek composing team DENNIS MCCARTHY and KEVIN KINER. Those of you who now own a Backer Edition disk set have hopefully seen and enjoyed their interview together in the "Musical Reunion" special bonus feature:
Not only are these two gentlemen true professionals and acclaimed musicians in their own right, but they are also also funny, energetic and supportive friends and all-around great guys. We're forever grateful to them and their teams for the beautiful contributions to "What We Left Behind," elevating key moments and bringing life and Star Trek authenticity to our animated Season 8 opener through their musical score.
That original score is now available to purchase as a stand-alone soundtrack, released this past week through BSX Records. Check out the soundtrack details and arwork preview here:
FREE DIGITAL SOUNDTRACK RELEASE FOR ELIGIBLE BACKERS
If you were lucky enough to support during the initial Indiegogo Campaign in 2017, then you helped us to unlock our third stretch goal... which promised a FREE DIGITAL COPY of the soundtrack for all backers who selected a reward level at $35 and up!
All eligible backers will be receiving an email in the next 24 hours with download code for a digital version of the soundtrack PLUS digital booklet and artwork.
Don't forget to add [email protected] to your approved senders list. If you believe you are eligible but have not received email instructions shortly, please check your spam folder before reaching out to our support team at the email above.
For those who missed out on this bonus gift during the original campaign, we encourage you to take a look at the digital or physical CD release through BSX Records and bring home your own copy today!
POSTER SHIPPING UPDATE
For those still patiently waiting for your posters -- we've got great news! All poster shipments are being completed this week and will be in the mail shortly. Look for tracking number soon if you're still waiting on yours, or check out ds9doc.backerkit.com to check on the status of your order.
We've got a handful of leftover / unclaimed items (including a handful of original campaign T-SHIRTS and PINS!) that we'll be selling once all shipments have been completed sometime in the coming months -- so don't forget to follow us on social media (Facebook & Twitter) and check your emails for more updates soon.
In the meantime, thanks as always for your kind words, enthusiasm, support, and most importantly... your belief in the project and in #DS9.
