Dear friends,

As many of you will have heard by now, we lost a dear member of our family over the weekend.

Aron Eisenberg, who played 'Nog' for seven years on Deep Space Nine, passed away suddenly this past Saturday following complications from a heart attack. Our community has been devastated by the news, and our film team has struggled to come to terms with the untimely loss of someone who was such a close friend to the project.

You can see the love for Aron and personal messages from our cast & crew in the news or on social media this week, but we wanted to take a moment now here with you to share our own remembrance of and tribute to our friend in this extended clip from his interview:

Should you wish to support Aron's family by donating to the funeral costs, a GoFundMe has been set up on the behalf of Aron's wife Malíssa and his two children and can be viewed here.

Aron was truly everything wonderful you've already seen or felt about him - kind, witty, energetic and passionate, and someone who cared immensely for the wellbeing of everyone around him. While we grieve and struggle to accept his loss, we also encourage you to follow his endlessly positive attitude and example. Take a moment this week to make someone smile, or do something kind for those around you.

With neverending love,

- The #DS9Doc Family

Greetings fellow niners,

One of our favorite surprise collaborations on the #DS9Doc was that with original Star Trek composing team DENNIS MCCARTHY and KEVIN KINER. Those of you who now own a Backer Edition disk set have hopefully seen and enjoyed their interview together in the "Musical Reunion" special bonus feature:

Kevin Kiner & Dennis McCarthy (composers)

Not only are these two gentlemen true professionals and acclaimed musicians in their own right, but they are also also funny, energetic and supportive friends and all-around great guys. We're forever grateful to them and their teams for the beautiful contributions to "What We Left Behind," elevating key moments and bringing life and Star Trek authenticity to our animated Season 8 opener through their musical score.

That original score is now available to purchase as a stand-alone soundtrack, released this past week through BSX Records. Check out the soundtrack details and arwork preview here:

"What We Left Behind" CD Soundtrack

If you were lucky enough to support during the initial Indiegogo Campaign in 2017, then you helped us to unlock our third stretch goal... which promised a FREE DIGITAL COPY of the soundtrack for all backers who selected a reward level at $35 and up!

Remember this?

All eligible backers will be receiving an email in the next 24 hours with download code for a digital version of the soundtrack PLUS digital booklet and artwork.

Don't forget to add ds9doc@455films.com to your approved senders list. If you believe you are eligible but have not received email instructions shortly, please check your spam folder before reaching out to our support team at the email above.

For those who missed out on this bonus gift during the original campaign, we encourage you to take a look at the digital or physical CD release through BSX Records and bring home your own copy today!

For those still patiently waiting for your posters -- we've got great news! All poster shipments are being completed this week and will be in the mail shortly. Look for tracking number soon if you're still waiting on yours, or check out ds9doc.backerkit.com to check on the status of your order.

We've got a handful of leftover / unclaimed items (including a handful of original campaign T-SHIRTS and PINS!) that we'll be selling once all shipments have been completed sometime in the coming months -- so don't forget to follow us on social media (Facebook & Twitter) and check your emails for more updates soon.

In the meantime, thanks as always for your kind words, enthusiasm, support, and most importantly... your belief in the project and in #DS9.

Thank you,

- The #DS9Doc Team

Just a quick word to say...

The #DS9Doc was released today into world at large on home video (well, ok, North America & Europe for now -- but more regions coming very soon!), and we are touched by the wonderful words of support for Deep Space Nine and of course for the documentary itself.

We couldn't be more grateful to have shared this experience with all of you, and we thank you, truly, for helping make this film a reality.

Some quick updates for those who might have missed them previously on social media...

SDCC 2019 Panel Is Online!

For those not able to attend this year's San Diego Comic Con International in person, our partners at Shout! Factory have put up an archived version of the FULL Deep Space Nine Documentary Panel, featuring Andy Robinson (Garak), Cirroc Lofton (Jake), Aron Eisenberg (Nog), Chase Masterson (Leeta) and Penny Johnson Jerald (Kasidy), along with filmmakers Ira Steven Behr, David Zappone and Kai de Mello-Folsom...

Much of our team was out last week at Star Trek Las Vegas, and had a great time seeing a lot of our old convention friends and making new ones. David, Kai and Joe joined our #DS9 guests Andy Robinson, Nicole de Boer and Jimmy Darren onstage for a panel on Thursday.

A brief recap of the panel can be found by clicking below or visiting StarTrek.com.

Now that disk shipments are completed, we're in the process of packaging our posters. Please be patient with us as these take a bit more time to prepare and ship. You'll receive a NEW tracking email notification once your package(s) go out.

If you haven't bought a BACKER NAMES poster, there's still a little time left to pick one up (and have a shot at getting a signed on from Ira Steven Behr!).

And for those asking about the music -- our film's original soundtrack is being released later this year through a partner record label company. Once details of that are settled and public release is announced, we'll be sending out digital redemption codes for backers who were eligible for a free copy during our Indiegogo campaign challenge. We'll also announce it here and on our social media for friends and family who may have missed out!

Stay tuned for details on both of those items soon.

In the meantime, we hope you'll continue to talk up the film to your friends family, hey, even strangers. We've made a huge splash throughout this whole process and definitely turned some heads. We may be nearing the end of our story, but Star Trek: Deep Space Nine will continue to live on.

Who knows where it will go from here.

First off --

We are happy to say ALL Backer Edition disk sets have shipped!

We handed off our international sets to our shipping partners earlier this week, and non-US backers should see their tracking numbers emailed out through BackerKit within the next day or two... but all packages are either on their way or already in your eagerly-awaiting hands!

No, don't fret. Your poster didn't get lost in shipment. Because they're much larger items, they ship separatly -- and are a much longer process for us to safely roll and package. Our team decided to prioritize getting the disk sets out to everyone first before starting on these larger tubes. Now that we're through the first portion, expect to see new tracking numbers for these poster shipments in the coming few weeks.

Ira stopped by our office today to kick off shipping and even sign surprise a few lucky supporters with a signed version...

We still have a few of our limited-edition Backer Names poster prints availalable to purchase... so if you've been on the fence about order this new 'add on,' don't miss your (random) chance to luck out with a surprise signed poster!

Star Trek Las Vegas 2019

We'll be stopping by the annual Star Trek Las Vegas convention NEXT WEEK to join in the fun and show some all-new clips on our #DS9Doc Panel! Follow our social media (Facebook or Twitter) for more day-to-day news, and be sure to say 'hello' if you see us at the con!

We've been delighted to hear all the wonderful feedback from those of you who have already received your disks. Thanks for your kind words of support, and help us spread the news to non-backers about the public release on AUGUST 6th!

Until then, keep trekkin' on.

Don’t forget — if you've moved since supporting the project, there are just a FEW DAYS LEFT to update your mailing address (through BackerKit) for the Blu-Ray/DVD sets, and now... POSTERS!

That's right, we've gotten the full-size theatrical posters back from our manufacturer, and they're looking great! We can't wait for backers to hang these full-size (24" x 36") posters proudly on their walls.

But today, we’re far more excited to debut something new for you…

Rather than just release a long list of names in text format on our website, our team has been cooking up a more-visual way of showing off our many thousands of backers. Based off your own suggestions, we decided the best way to do that was to compile them into something a little more special — a full-sized poster!

This digital poster will be debuting later this week on our website, and includes all backers eligible for the “Name on the Website” or “Name in the Credits” rewards. It’s available for you to view & download for free HERE: (bit.ly/wwlbnameposter)

With the downloadable file, you can even print a version at home if you like! But, because we’re so excited with how this new design turned out, we’ve decided to professionally print some of our own full-sized copies of this poster to accompany the standard theatrical one!

For the NEXT TWO WEEKS ONLY, backers who are already receiving the official theatrical poster can ‘add on’ a high quality 24x36” print of this alternate design for just $25 (with NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING!). These two posters will ship together in the coming weeks after disk sets go out.

Missed out on the original poster as a reward during the campaign? We've still got a few left over while supplies last. You can order either poster design independently or togeher for a short time on our website or online store at ds9doc.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders.

Visit our store for more!

We hope you'll stay tuned for more updates on disk shipping and upcoming events (like San Diego Comic-Con 2019!). In the meantime, keep trekkin' on!
