Upcoming Events, Shipping & More

Greetings from the town of Vulcan!

Ira and Kai are up in lovely Alberta, Canada this weekend attending the annual Vul-Con with DS9 friends Cirroc Lofton, Hana Hatae and Robert O'Reilly! If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and say 'hello!'

As you likely already know, we'll also be attending this year's STAR TREK LAS VEGAS CONVENTION and hosting a number of events & panels throughout. While the schedule is still not finalized, here are some of the highlights to look forward to:

  • In-Depth Talks with Ira Stephen Behr, Adam Nimoy & David Zappone on the CBS All-Access Stage at various times throughout the convention.

  • Our all-new "DS9 Confessional" In partnership with CBS All-Access! Come to Quark's Bar and interact on-camera with our team sharing your love (or hatred!) for Deep Space Nine! Times TBA.

  • A "What We Left Behind" panel on SUNDAY with the team on the main stage, featuring a new exclusive sneak peak of the film!

Find the team and say 'Qapla'! We'll be there filming & attending events throughout the week & weekend.

OFFER FOR INTERNATIONAL BACKERS ATTENDING STLV:

If you're an international backer and will be in Vegas, we'd like to offer you the chance to guarantee getting 'swag' quicker by picking it up at one of our events in person! If your item(s) haven't shipped yet, and you'd prefer to pick them up while at the con (versus waiting on international mail), then email us ASAP at [email protected] to arrange. Respond by Monday, 7/24 - any shipments already in progress not eligible.

Shipping Updates

As many of you have no doubt seen on social media, we've begun shipping T-Shirt and Pin rewards this past week. We ask you to be patient with us as we are a small team and shipments are going out in waves -- international shipments of course take longer to prepare due to the customs and packing information. When your item(s) ship, you'll receive a tracking number through backerkit.

Some brief updates on a few specific rewards:

  • Terry's Tribbles are in the assembly process and will be going out soon! Due to our team leaving for the Vegas convention, please note that these may not ship out until mid-August.

  • Due to Terry's busy appearance schedule, she's asked that we postpone delivery (slightly) of her Trill Cookie Baskets. If you're a backer at that level, please stay tuned for an update email soon.

We hope to see you at one of our events coming up, and keep posting on social media and making some noise for #DS9!

Happy July to all, and a happy Independence Day to our American friends!

We've got plenty of news this week, first of which is that there's a new video update live NOW in our Video Vault! Don't miss this behind-the-scenes glimpse into our latest studio interviews.

For backers not eligible for the Video Vault, we've heard your requests & are working on an option to provide access soon to other reward levels. Stay tuned!

More notably, we're starting to get our first physical merchandise back from manufacturers, and we couldn't be more pleased! Check out this sneak peek of one of our DS9 pin sets here:

Both the pins & t-shirts will be going out in the mail shortly, so it's the...

Last chance to update mailing address through BackerKit!

If eligible, you should have received a reminder email yesterday. If your mailing address is correct, no need to do anything. You'll receive a tracking # when the item(s) ship. If you DO need to update your information, just go to your BackerKit survey (or request a new link at ds9doc.backerkit.com) and follow prompts to update your address.

This is only applicable for items estimated to ship in July (primarily pins & t-shirts). If you have other items shipping later (DVDs, posters, etc.) you'll be able to go back and update prior to shipment of those items.

Dinner with Nana - A Striking Success!

We had the time of our lives with the wonderful Nana Visitor this past week, and we're grateful for everyone who helped make that night possible. Take it from us, Major Kira may have been stuck for a long time in Bajoran resistance cell caves, but her hosting (& cooking!) skills are simply impeccable.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Nana Visitor for hosting this evening... (and thanks to supporter Carl S. for some of the great photos!)

We've got 4 SEATS LEFT for tomorrow night's Dinner with Vic Fontaine & Friends! if you're in Hollywood, don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience! (Tickets at ds9documentary.com).

Still accepting Video Submissions!

Many of you noted that we didn't put a deadline on our submissions form... To clarify, the sooner we receive videos, the better chance our editors will look at & consider for the film. But we're also looking at entries for social media & other promotion -- so don't delay, but we'll be keeping the form open at least through mid-August!

Stay cool, and go see some fireworks! (Or, just stay in and enjoy the ending of DS9's Explorers ?)

Send us your videos!

We're just finishing up another round of exciting interviews, including talking this week with the wonderful Terry J. Erdmann (who, along with partner Paula M. Block, wrote the ultimate DEEP SPACE NINE COMPANION). Terry's unprecedented access to the cast, crew & stages throughout DS9's seven-season run gave him a unique & impressive perspective that he was more than happy to share on camera with Ira & our team.

We're finally winding down on the 'production' phase of the project (something that, thanks to all of you, has been a much more extensive process than we originally imagined!) and moving full-steam into the editing & post-production phases.

But we're still missing an important perspective... YOURS! We want to offer fans all across the galaxy a chance to weigh in on what makes DS9 special to YOU, and so we're happy to announce that we'll now be taking video submissions via web for potential inclusion in the film & surrounding promotional materials!!

Submit your videos today!

Thanks to modern technology, you can easily film on any video-equipped device (smart-phone, laptop, iPad... holo-communicator), following our basic rules for quality (a quiet space with no background music) and suggested questions, and submit yourself directly through our website:

 https://ds9documentary.com/video-submission/

Star Trek Las Vegas

We also hope to do some final filming with fans while in Vegas for the annual Star Trek Convention (August 2nd - 6th, 2017)! Stay tuned for news on this, and other updates on scheduling for our convention appearances, coming soon.

(Don't let this stop you from submitting your own video interviews in the meantime! If we like your story, we may reach out to connect in Vegas!)

Vic Fontaine One-Night Special - TICKETS AVAILABLE!

For those of you who missed out on the Vic Fontaine dinner during the live Indiegogo Campaign, we've got good news! There are still a few tickets available for this once-in-a-lifetime event!

Don't miss this chance to be wined & dined by James Darren, Terry Farrell, Ira Steven Behr & friends on July 5th at one of our favorite old-school Italian restaurants in Hollywood CA! Join us for food, fun, friends & more...

Visit our website to purchase tickets while supplies last: www.DS9Documentary.com.

We've got a new Video Vault update coming the first week of July -- plus more news on upcoming events, shipping estimates & more.

So, don't go anywhere!

Creating a Video Vault Account

Well, as Quark would surely attest, 'no good deed ever goes unpunished." In our haste to get our all-new VIDEO VAULT out to many of you, we neglected to account for the only downside of having so many awesome supporters... having SOOOO many awesome supporters to email!

Yes indeed, our email system was briefly overwhelmed yesterday when sending out new Video Vault credentials, and a handful of emails with temporary passwords and login instructions were lost in the jumble. We apologize for the delay and the 'tease' for any of you who may have had issues accessing the site initially.

If YOU are eligible for the VIDEO VAULT (formerly the "Online Video Library," included in most bundles $5 and up, but not stand-alone items like pins & t-shirts) and you still have not received an email with a temporary log-in credentials, we encourage you to do the following:

    1. Check your "Spam" folder to make sure the email did not end up there.

    2. Add "[email protected]" to your address book  to prevent delivery failure on important news & updates.

    3. Visit the Backer Area of our website and request to * RESET PASSWORD * using the email address you used for Indiegogo (go to the Video Vault log-in page directly by clicking HERE). You should receive a new temporary password by email shortly afterwards.

If you still have issues receiving your credentials and creating an account, please reach out to us directly at [email protected].

    Important notes:

    • Your Indiegogo password is NOT automatically your Video Vault password. For security purposes, a random password has been generated for you. You can change this at any time after setting up your account.

    • Your email / username must match the email originally provided in your Indiegogo survey.

    • At your suggestion, our web team today has added additional security encryption to the Backer Area of the site to protect your log-in information.

    • The VIDEO VAULT will be updated intermittently throughout production with new items. Alerts will appear at the top of the page to inform you of new content. We expect to include major updates monthly!

We hope this helps anyone who was having issues, and we appreciate your patience as we move forward in our production!

All the best from all of us here,

    The #DS9Doc Team

Video Vault Release, New Filming & More!

    Happy June, everyone!

We know we've been quieter than normal, but never fear - it’s been as busy as ever in the DS9Doc offices! Before we get to the updates... we want to take a moment to send birthday wishes to everyone’s favorite shape-shifter, René Auberjonois!

René joined us in studio in March for his latest on-camera interview with Ira Steven Behr.

    Announcing… the Video Vault!

We’re pleased to finally debut our all-new VIDEO VAULT (included in most rewards packages $5 and up!), giving you an exclusive look into the making of What We Left Behind. As we continue production, we’ll be adding more clips and sneak peaks, so stay tuned!

All eligible backers will be receiving an email shortly with your temporary password & instructions on how to access the site. You can also visit the vault directly anytime through the “INDIEGOGO BACKER” section of our website, at: www.DS9Documentary.com.

Don’t miss this first exclusive monthly video update: a behind-the-scenes tour of our recent trip to the CBS archives!

    Filming continues!

For those of you following us on social media, it may not surprise you to hear that we were back on set last week with more of our friends! To date, we’ve filmed over 30 new interviews since finishing the Indiegogo campaign, and we still have a handful left on our production schedule.

    Event, Shipping & Fulfillment Updates

Emails went out last month with dates & details for all of our LUNCH & DINNER event backers. If you selected this reward but haven’t received an email, be sure to check your spam folder and add [email protected] to your address book to avoid further issues.

Our original t-shirts & pins are all in production now, and should be ready to ship by their original July estimates. Plus, autographed DS9 Complete DVD sets are all out and in the mail (early... hooray!).

All other shipment timeframes & fulfillment updates are available on the “INDIEGOGO BACKER” area of our website! PLUS, if you filled out your BACKERKIT survey, you’ll automatically receive shipping reminders & tracking on any shippable items, and even have the ability to update your mailing address directly through the survey site up until 48 hours before shipment.

Be sure to follow us on social media (Facebook & Twitter!) for the latest day-to-day updates, and add [email protected] to your address book so you don't miss any important information.

That's all for now, but keep tuning in and making noise for DS9!
